Please do not be misled by the opponents of this valuable
addition to our "open space" environment. The core issue is not
safety, it is "not in my back yard", and that position should not
prevail.

As an experienced cyclist who has ridden many trails, I can state
that the Silver Lake and Long Lake Road crossings are not a
significant hazard. When one considers relevant factors such as
_.Itraffic density, speed, traffic patterns, trail & road geometry,
sight lines, these crossings appear less hazardous to me than
several crossings on the popular Gateway Trail.

s~:r~

Don Youngdahl

and

-
