<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, <br />November 24, 1992, at 7:33 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, larson, Rebelein and Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />David Childs, City Manager <br />Barbara Jeanetta, Assistant to the City Manager <br />Charlie leFevere. City Attorney <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />les Proper, City Engineer <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Senator Steve Novak requested to make a brief statement to the audience. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to APPROVE THE AMENDED <br />COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE NOVEMBER 10, 1992 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent. received the minutes of the Economic <br />Development Commission - October 6, November 3, 4, 1992; <br />Environmental Quality Commission - October 14, 1992; Human Rights <br />Commission - October 20, 1992; and Planning Commission - September <br />14, October 20, 1992. <br /> <br />Soecial Order of Business - None <br /> <br />Mayor Benke thanked David leitschuh for his participation on the Human <br />Rights Commission and presented him with a Certificate of Commendation. <br />Mr. leitschuh thanked the Council. <br /> <br />Senator Novak will chair a new State Senate Committee which has <br />responsibility for Jobs and Economic Development, Energy, Public Utility <br />Policy and Housing Issues. This committee will have direct involvement <br />with state and local governments. He will continue to serve on the Tax <br />Committee and looks forward to continuing strong relationships between <br />the units of government.
