Council recently authorized the replacement of a
23 year old pumper, delivery is expected early 1993. Also at that time,
Council discussed the replacement or refurbishing of the 1975 Howe fire
pumper. Because it makes sense to stagger pumper replacements at 7 year
intervals, it was proposed that the 1975 pumper be refurbished to extend
its life 5 to 7 years and thus equalizing our purchasing schedule.

Assistant Fire Chief Ron Finney estimated the refurbishing costs at about
$40,000.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to APPROVE
SPECIFICATIONS AND CALL FOR BIDS ON THE REFURBISHING OF THE
1975 FIRE PUMPER WITH AWARD OF CONTRACT EXPECTED TO TAKE
PLACE AT THE SEPTEMBER 8, 1992 CITY COUNCIL MEETING.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

City Engineer Les Proper presented the bids for Project 92-2, Oakwood
Drive Storm Sewer.
