.

Bob Jaskowiak stated it is only a 12 mile stretch of road but it is an important
connection from the south, the north and east. Especially with current bike lanes
in the area and projected bike lane. Don't know how we could move forward
without considering bike lanes. He would propose that you eliminate parallel
parking on the west side. Leave the bike lanes on the west side and keep the
parallel parking on the east side.

Don Heinrich felt the bike path should be off the road.

Ed Greacen stated his overall concern is to keep the roadwa:Y~~:i~~?W as
possible and try to discourage people from using it as a shortcut t6g~!>onto 35W.

Mark T oupal stated he felt a mixed use bike & pede~triarfp~t~ would 6~:,;i:.
dangerous. They wanted the parking on east side, or the
business side and the west side was optional. Developers certainly would like to
see parking in front of their units. The development has enough parking of its
own, these would be in addition to that parking. The intention was if someone
going southbound on Old 8 wanted to park and then run across to the business on
the east side, they could do that without entering the business area. The area we
are showing parking is just for the 2 blocks, it is not the entire stretch.

Ed stated he would like to recommend to the Council deleting the parallel parking
on the west.

Page 5
