Jeanne stated she doesn't know if we should recommend deleting it, but it should
be looked into and determine ifthere is a definite need and will it create
community.

Public Safety Commissioner Tish Woods stated that if you keep parking on the
west side and have someone park and scoot across the road, you are encouraging a
dangerous situation. If you are going to have parking only on one side, keep it on
the east side.

Jeanne Frischman stated that if we are trying to create com'l11wP~;,??d invite
people to our businesses and don't provide parking for t4ein,theywill not come.
Tb.~P1lfks, Recreation and Environmental Commission discussed whether there
should be a dedicated bikeway or a combined walkway and bikeway.

Bill Kerns, Public Safety Commission, said he was a patrol officer and there are
combined bike and walk trails that work quite well. There are fewer fast riders on
these paths.

Kate mentioned because Old 8 is a main artery, there may be more fast and
competitive bikers coming through than in the park.

.

Tom TrevoITow mentioned that just having a trail doesn't do anything. We want
to be involved in future plans that could connect this with another bikeway.
