<br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />06- <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON TO APPLY FOR FUNDING <br />FOR CITY PROJECT NO. 07-03 OLD HIGHWAY 8 RECONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On August 22, 2006 the City Council approved the final geometric layout, authorized <br />staff to prepare and solicit proposals for final design professional services, and authorized staff <br />to prepare a project feasibility study. This project is expected to be let by April 1, 2007 and <br />completed by November 1, 2007; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this route is classified as an A Minor Arterial and is an important part of the regional <br />transportation system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Old Highway 8 is an important reliever ofInterstate-35W as it provides an alternate <br />north-south route for commuters; and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this route serves Long Lake Regional Park, which is Ramsey County's busiest park <br />in there system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Old Highway 8 is a Ramsey County road and this project is not fully funded from <br />Ramsey County due to limited resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, two potential funding sources for City Project No. 07-03 Old Highway 8 <br />Reconstruction are "Routes of Regional Significance" and "Cooperative Agreement" funding; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of New Brighton: <br /> <br />1.
