Staff reviewed the precinct sites and found consolidation <br />presents space constraints to several locations. This proposal provides the <br />minimal cost approach for compliance, Egan said the next opportunity to <br />evaluate precinct locations would be after the November election. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams. seconded by Rebelein, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION AMENDING THE VOTING PRECINCTS. <br /> <br />4 Ayes ~ 1 Naye (Benke), Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Director Maurie Anderson presented the contracts for <br />forestry services with the cities of Roseville and Mounds View. <br /> <br />Since 1981, New Brighton and Mounds View participated in a joint powers <br />agreement for forestry services. Recently. Mounds View said the program <br />could be jeopardized by funding cuts. In February, Roseville requested from <br />New Brighton a quotation for forestry inspection services. a proposal was <br />drawn up and received agreement from both sides. The one year <br />agreement will be approved annually, however, if the arrangement works <br />well a longer term contract could be negotiated in the future. <br /> <br />New Brighton's total savings for services rendered in 1992, after wages, <br />mileage and materials. would be $4,200. There will be additional savings in <br />1992 and beyond when the contracts extend an entire year. The Roseville <br />Council has approved the contract, contingent on New Brighton and <br />Mounds View's approval. The Mounds View Council will review the <br />contract next week. <br /> <br />Williams is impressed with the ingenuity shown by the three cities in <br />developing the agreement. He noted the excellent services City Forester <br />Rick Wriskey has provided to the City. <br /> <br />Benke agreed that the program has provided outstanding service. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams. seconded by Larson, to DISSOLVE, CONTINGENT ON <br />MOUNDS VIEW APPROVAL, THE FORESTRY JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />WITH MOUNDS VIEW AND AUTHORIZED STAFF TO EXECUTE <br />CONTRACTS FOR FORESTRY SERVICES TO ROSEVILLE AND MOUNDS <br />VIEW. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes.
