<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 25, 1992 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Council Business. continued <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman. seconded by Rebelein. to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES FOR <br />1992 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY CONTINGENT ON LEGISLATIVE <br />APPROVAL. <br /> <br />4 Ayes ~ 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Announcements and UDdates <br /> <br />The League of Women Voters are sOliciting donations for the purchase of <br />two banners to encourage voter participation in the Presidential Primary. <br /> <br />The International City Managers Association invited six City Managers <br />from around the U.S. to meet with the Environmental Protection Agency <br />(EPA) to discuss Superfund provisions regarding municipal solid waste <br />placed in landfills. Childs will be in attendance. <br /> <br />The Ramsey County League of Local Governments will meet on February <br />27 to discuss the consolidation issue. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Presidential <br />Primary <br />Resolution 92~21 <br /> <br />Announcements <br /> <br />Presidential <br />Primary Banner <br /> <br />Superfund <br />Provisions <br /> <br />RCLLG Meeting <br /> <br />The Senior Center Task Force will meet February 26. The group evaluated Senior Center <br />many sites and determined Brightwood Golf Course, Rice Creek Center, <br />and the Fridley Trail End would be further investigated. <br /> <br />The Cable Commission will meet on March 5 in the new Irondale facility. Cable Meeting <br /> <br />Staff is determining the type of monitoring needed for the rendering plant Rendering Plant <br />permit. Because of the plant's New Brighton location, Arden Hills will no <br />longer participate in funding, but will assist in monitoring. <br /> <br />The Northern Mayors Association will meet March 4. <br /> <br />Staff will investigate the concept of honorary Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Northern Mayors <br /> <br />Honorary Council <br /> <br />Dispute Resolution <br /> <br />The State will sponsor two day Dispute Resolution training sessions in <br />April, June, September and November. New Brighton, Roseville, <br />Woodbury, St. Anthony and Shoreview will hold joint one-half day dispute <br />resolution seminars for their staff in March.
