<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, <br />August 27, 1991, at 7:33 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, Rebelein (left at 8:00) and <br />Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />Also Present: David Childs, City Manager <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Rick Wriskey, City Forester <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Rebelein, seconded by Williams, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE AMENDED AUGUST 13, 1991 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes ~ 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent received the minutes of the Economic <br />Oevelopment Commission - July 25, 1991; Environmental Quality <br />Commission ~ June 12 and July 1 7, 1991; and Planning Commission - <br />June 18 and July 16, 1991. <br /> <br />Soecial Order of Business <br /> <br />City Manager David Childs said a request has been received from <br />Giuseppe's Restaurant concerning liquor liability insurance requirements. <br /> <br />Dominic Cecere, Giuseppe's Restaurant, is requesting reduction of the <br />City's liquor liability insurance requirement to $50,000 per person, <br />$100,000 two or more persons and $300,000 annual limit (50/100/300). <br />Giuseppe's is a small family establishment and does not plan to turn the <br />restaurant into a bar, but would like to serve beer or wine with its food. <br />The State provides that any establishment whose liquor revenues are less <br />than $10,000Iannually is not required to purchase an insurance bond. He <br />is not suggesting Giuseppe's not purchase insurance, but feels the <br />(50/100/300) policy is more than adequate.
