<br />. <br /> <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Regular Meeting - August 15,2006 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: Commissioners Larry Baker, Bruce Howard, Tom O'Keefe, and Norm <br />Schiferl, <br /> <br />Absent: Karen Mann, Jim O'Brien, and Paul Zisla. <br /> <br />Also Present: Council Member Sharon Doffing, Grant Fernelius, Community <br />Development Director, and Janice Gundlach, City Planner. <br /> <br />Agenda Review: Agenda approved. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: The July 18, 2006 was approved with the following sentence <br />removed from the Lake Shore Fence discussion: "He added that the welfare issue is a <br />safety and property value concern." <br /> <br />. Council Action: Council Member Doffing reported the Council approved a resolution <br />for a Letter of Understanding with the United States Postal Service for payment of the <br />rent differential plus relocation expenses. The Council also approved a blight resolution <br />for Marv's Gas Station, a resolution for a drive thru window for Limu Coffee with the <br />contingency that if there is significant traffic changes on County Road E2 that the drive <br />thru would be closed, and CD Companies received approval for two temporary sales <br />events each year. <br /> <br />On August 7, the Council held a televised Budget Work Session that she encourages <br />everyone to watch it and if the audience would like a video they can come into City Hall <br />to obtain a copy of it. The preliminary results show a projected 12 to 13 percent tax levy <br />for 2007. She encourages everyone to attend the next Budget Meeting, which will be <br />held on August 21,2007 at 4:30 pm. <br /> <br />Baker inquired to where the Post Office will be relocating.
