.....

.

Budzynski stated that softball and any other sport have to pay to play in
our leagues, the disc golf players are running leagues and everything else
on the disc golf course. We have parking issues because of it.

If we charge for youth baseball and adult softball, why aren't we making
the disc golfers pay?

Breuer commented that as far as she knows there is not another disc golf
course in Minnesota that charges to play. It would be very difficult to
staff it. It is viewed as neighborhood playgrounds are. We provide the
play area, we want a healthy community. That is what the disc golf
course it meant to do. However, I do hear that leagues and tournaments
are being held there and that is something we can look into.

Barton received an e-mail from a resident regarding the erosion problem
at the disc golf area. He expressed concern about the erosion on two hills
especially. Nothing has been done yet. It looks like trees could be lost
very soon. It seems that a couple of holes could be blocked off to stop
this from happening.

.

Breuer stated that she received the e-mail as well. This issue was
discussed previously and we plan to do some planting in the fall. Breuer
has a meeting already scheduled with the City Forester and Park
Maintenance Manager to discuss what will be done and when. Breuer
played a few courses in the Twin Cities to get a feel for this. Other
communities are experiencing erosion issues and other things that we
are. We will be looking at a way to place the tee areas so that we are not
moving them every couple of weeks and want to please both the disc
golf players and the residents.

B.

Replacing portions of asphalt trails at Hansen Park
Breuer informed the Commission that asphalt replacement is done every
year; this year it is at Hansen Park. Not replacing the entire path, only
sections. We are increasing the width of the path in the replacement
areas with 8 ft sections instead of 6 ft so that maintenance vehicles can
drive/plow on them without ruining them.

Greacen stated in Long Lake Park the edges of the trails are all chewed
up. Ramsey County does not use that trail for vehicles. New Brighton
local Police are the ones that use it.

C. Closing Neighborhood Center Restrooms (Labor Day-Memorial Day)
Breuer stated that that we are closing restrooms earlier due to increased
vandalism. All facilities that are closing, will have satellites available.

.

D.

Fall brochures delivered to homes
Breuer wanted to let the Commission know fall brochures were
delivered to homes and registration is being taken. Kudos to staff for
putting it together.

Page 3
