Resolution No. 06-100. <br /> <br />Grant Femelius, Director of Community Development explained the request is for a site plan review <br />and approval of a variance to allow for a parking lot The Planning Commission recommended <br />approval. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Bauman, seconded by Council Member Hoffman to <br />waive the reading and adopt the attached resolution approving the Variance and Site <br />Plan at 2050 Old highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Renorts. Announcements. and Undates <br />Municipal Advisory Commission Reports: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Member Mary Burg - Public Safety Commission <br />Council Member Burg reported the next Public Safety Commission meeting is scheduled for <br />September 27, 2006. Most City Council members attended NIMS (National Incident Management <br />System) training to review emergency management procedures. Four members of the Public Safety <br />department are participating in the Twin Cities marathon. <br /> <br />Council Member Ann Hoffinan - Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br />Council Member Hoffinan reported the October Parks, Recreation and Fnvironmental Commission <br />meeting was cancelled due to lack of Agenda items. <br /> <br />Council Member Sharon Doffing - Planning Commission-absent. <br /> <br />Council Member Gina Bamnan - Economic Development Corrnnission <br />Council Member Bauman was not able to attend the Economic Development Conunission meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Steve Larson <br />Mayor Larson reported the Economic Development Commission meeting focused primarily on the <br />Northwest Quadrant, and current standings on acquisitions. The open house hosted by Sherman & <br />Associates and RottllUld Homes was reported as a big success. A representative from MOl.mds View <br />School District 621 attended the earlier work: session. Mayor Larson encouraged all to look over recent <br />literature distributed by the school district relating to the upooming levy. <br />Mayor Larson received a letter along with a few tokens from Dipl.eng. Yanko Yankov the Mayor of <br />district Vrabnitsa -Sofia Municipality Bulgaria Mayor Yankov visited New Brighton recently, at that <br />time Mayor Larson showed him various elements of the City. <br /> <br />4.
