Announcements. and Uudates Municipal Advisory Commission Reports: Acting City Manager Jeanna Troha stated that Director of Public Safety, Bob Jacobson was recently awarded the Metro Director of the Year award by the Emergency Management ssociation, ouncil Member Ma Bur - Public Safe Commission Council Member Burg complemented staff on a successful Town Hall meeting. Director Jacobson, Steve Moore and Mitch Singer participated in the Twin Cities Marathon. Public Safety Department is visiting schools as part of fire prevention week. Citizens CPR training was held. Council Member Ann Hoffman - Parks. Recreation. and Environmental Commission Council Member Hoffman also expressed appreciation for the Town Hall meeting. Ken Manthis, Golf Operation Manager, presented some ideas regarding a practice area at Brightwood Hills. Northwest Youth and Family Services will be holding their fund raising event Thursday October 12th at the Shoreview Community Center. Council Member Sharon Domnl! - Planninl! Commission Council Member Doffing distributed a newspaper article regarding manufactured home parks and requested other council members review it. A resident was unable to get his question answered at the Town Hall meeting. He would like the current locations of the businesses formerly located in the Northwest Quadrant. On October 5th six candidates were interviewed for the City Manager position. It was stated that the City Council has unanimously recommended three finalists. ouncil Member Gina Bauman - Economic Develo ment Commission ouncil Member Bauman attended the Economic Development Commission meeting and aid the sales trailer at the Northwest Quadrant will remain open for public visits. A Business Council meeting is scheduled for October 31 st. Ms. Bauman stated that she would be available for various meetings in the City if requested.
