Announcements. and Uudates <br /> <br />Municipal Advisory Commission Reports: <br /> <br />Acting City Manager Jeanna Troha stated that Director of Public Safety, Bob Jacobson was <br />recently awarded the Metro Director of the Year award by the Emergency Management <br />ssociation, <br /> <br /> <br />ouncil Member Ma Bur - Public Safe Commission <br />Council Member Burg complemented staff on a successful Town Hall meeting. Director <br />Jacobson, Steve Moore and Mitch Singer participated in the Twin Cities Marathon. Public <br />Safety Department is visiting schools as part of fire prevention week. Citizens CPR training <br />was held. <br /> <br />Council Member Ann Hoffman - Parks. Recreation. and Environmental Commission <br />Council Member Hoffman also expressed appreciation for the Town Hall meeting. Ken <br />Manthis, Golf Operation Manager, presented some ideas regarding a practice area at <br />Brightwood Hills. Northwest Youth and Family Services will be holding their fund raising <br />event Thursday October 12th at the Shoreview Community Center. <br /> <br />Council Member Sharon Domnl! - Planninl! Commission <br />Council Member Doffing distributed a newspaper article regarding manufactured home <br />parks and requested other council members review it. A resident was unable to get his <br />question answered at the Town Hall meeting. He would like the current locations of the <br />businesses formerly located in the Northwest Quadrant. On October 5th six candidates were <br />interviewed for the City Manager position. It was stated that the City Council has <br />unanimously recommended three finalists. <br /> <br /> <br />ouncil Member Gina Bauman - Economic Develo ment Commission <br />ouncil Member Bauman attended the Economic Development Commission meeting and <br />aid the sales trailer at the Northwest Quadrant will remain open for public visits. A <br />Business Council meeting is scheduled for October 31 st. Ms. Bauman stated that she would <br />be available for various meetings in the City if requested. <br /> <br />
