<br />Council Proceedings <br />~ity.of New Brighton <br />Feb. 10, 1976 <br /> <br />J <br /> <br />Stanley Keller, 2848 Rice Creek Terrace, stated <br />opposition to the proposed liquor license noting <br />the local traffic problem and business vacancies <br />in the area. <br /> <br />Paul Citron stated he was opposed to the liquor <br />license noting the hazardous intersection of <br />Mississippi Street and Silver Lake Road <br /> <br />Don Cable, 2036 29th Avenue N.W.. stated opposition <br />to the proposed liquor license fearing a drop in <br />value of the property. <br /> <br />Dick Peterson, 2151 29th Avenue, stated concern with <br />a traffic increase because of the proposed development <br />Paul Citron stated concern \vith the adequacy of parking <br />space on the site noting that some cars may have to <br />park on 26th Avenue and would then have to move traffic <br />through a residential area. <br /> <br />James Lund, owner of R-2 zoned property northwest of the <br />site, stated he did not feel this development would do <br />his property any good. <br /> <br />Roger Kvitrud, 2944 Rice Creek Terrace, stated concern <br />that there may be additional police costs because of the <br />liquor license. <br /> <br />Stan Keller noted that cars entering and exiting the parking <br />lot would have their lights shining into the residential <br />area on the west <br />Ken Norby stated in his judgment no more traffic would <br />be added because of this development any more than other <br />development in the area. <br /> <br />Ellen Citron reiterated concern regarding the intersection <br />Mississippi and Silver Lake Road noting that the proposed <br />Capital Improvement Plan moved semaphores in the <br />intersection from 1976 to 1978. <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Werdouschegg to close hearing <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />Motion by Bromander, seconded by Fisher to deny liquor <br />license application <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br /> <br />Mr. Jack Welsh requested that his application for <br />building permit be withdrawn <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Close <br />Hearing <br /> <br />Deny <br />application <br />
