-3-

Commissioner Brown stated that he would only like to get the
opinion of the Planning Board.

Commissioner Medved stated that he ~as no reason for unnecessary
delays, and felt that the Council was well aware of the Planning
Board's opinion.

Commissioner Medved stated he felt this was a good plan which was
supported by neighborhood groups and also that the Board of Review
had enough information to make a decision without slightin9 the
Board of Planning.

Commissioner Wickland noted that the Comprehensive Plan had a
desire to keep commercial uses on the west side of Silver Lake
Road. He also noted that area residents had stated they would
prefer this office building to low density housing.

commissioner Doyle stated that he was not in favor of referring
this item to the Board of Planning. He noted that we now the
proposed Comprehensive Plan and that we should be consistent
with that plan. He noted that the Comprehensive Plan could very
well be amended at some time but that for now, we should be con~istent
with the plan.

Commissioner Wickland stated that there are many uncertainties and
that it may be better to recommend approval and caution the Council
to the drawbacks. He noted that he also did not like to see any
unnecessary delays.

Vote on m~tion - I aye ~ 3 nayes (Medved, Doyle, Wickland) - motion fails

Motion by Medved, seconded by Wickland, to recommend approval
of LP-48 conditioned on:

1. All missing information being provided on the plans;

2. That only two driveways be permitted and that no driveways
be permitted on Violet Lane;

3. That an evergreen hedge be placed on the" south side of
the property in the 25 foot buffer zone;

4. That two parking spaces be removed adjacent to Miss. St.
so that a25 foot buffer strip can be maintained.

Further, to note that the proposed use is in conformance with
present zoning though in conflict with the proposed Comprehensive
Plan which indicates low density residential, noting that 3 neighbors
across the street and" one to the south are in favor of the proposal
versus the proposed low density residential.
