<br />-2- <br /> <br />Mr. Harstad stated that the driveway on Violet Lane could be <br />eliminated if required. Mr. Harstad also stated that he would <br />like to see the Council allow only 43 parking spaces so that the <br />property could be dressed up, probably by using the design of the <br />building with the canopy. He noted that the third driveway was <br />not a necessity. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Ross, 2166 Violet Lane, stated that he was very much in <br />favor of the proposed plans. Mr. Ross also stated a concern for <br />the driveway on Violet Lane. ,Mr. Ross further noted that an <br />immedi~te concern of his was for the buffering on the south side <br />of the property and that they would like to see a solid fence <br />in this area to cut down on noise,.and lights of automobiles. <br /> <br />Mr. Harstad stated that the reason for the hedge is that fences <br />are often vandalised and require constant repair. Mr. Harstad <br />. . <br />stated that he felt a solid hedge may be the best answer. <br /> <br />Mr. Stan Novak, 2191 Violet Lane, stated that he had no strong <br />feelings either way on this proposal. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wickland noted that the procedure followed by the <br />Planning Commission could have a direct effect on this item, meaning <br />that the Council may enact a moratorium at their next meeting <br />which would prohibit construction 'of this building. <br /> <br />Mr. Sorenson stated he would like to see this item passed onto <br />the Council so that it could be built. <br /> <br />Mr. Pat Cobb stated that he had built many of the homes in the <br />area and noted that all buyers were well aware that the property <br />was zoned for office uses. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brown noted that a few meetings back, a developer <br />had stated that office space had been saturated in New Brighton. <br />Commissioner Brown stated that he felt the Board of Review should <br />refer this item to the Board of Planning for their comments. <br />Commissioner Brown indicated that he felt the Board of Review <br />was considering this item at this time as the dev~loper ~as trying <br />to beat the pending Council moratorium. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wickland noted that this 'is a difficult situation <br />relative to the pending moratorium. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion by Brown, seconded by Wickland, to refer LP-48 to the Board <br />of Planning for their comments and to defer this item to the next <br />Board of Review meeting. <br />
