The problem <br />may be overstated, however, as the proposed restaurant <br />entrance is relatively close to Old Highway 8 and not within the <br />actual apartment parking areas. A possibility may be to access <br />directly off of Old Highway 8. Such an access would, of <br />course, have to be approved by Ramsey County. A County Highway <br />Engineer has indicate~ access off of Old Highway 8 may be <br />possible though it would not be likely that the councy would <br />allow the existing road median to be cut. With the median <br />access off of Old Highway 8 would only be possible for south <br />bound traffic. Sharing the apartment driveway would provide <br />both north bound and south bound traffic access <br />to the restaurant from Old Highway 8. <br /> <br />A further comment regarding this proposal is its relationship <br />with the large County right-of-way on the south and east sides. <br />It appears possible that if the right-of-way were acquired and <br />added to the subject property, enough land may be available <br />for two building sites.
