SP86-009 SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION
Proposed Office/Warehouse
N.E. Quad. of 1st Ave. N.W. &
14th St. N.E.
New Brighton, MN

A. INTRODUCTION

A.1 . Purpose: The purpose of this investigation was to assist
in evaluating soil and ground water conditions relative to the
design of a proposed office/warehouse.

A.2. Scope: A total of seven (7) standard penetration test
borings _ were performed in the proposed building area. In addi-
tion, two (2) power auger borings were performed in a proposed
parking area and a proposed borrow source area. With the results
of the soil borings, this engineering report was prepared
addressing our analysis and recommendations.

A.3. Boring Locations and Surface Elevations: The soil borings
were, generally, performed at or near the locations which were
specified by your contractor. As authorized by your architect,
one (1) bar i ng was added to better define peat depths and to
obtain deep soil data so that pile length estimates could be
calculated. The boring locations were referenced to the existing
curb lines of 1st Ave. N.W. and 14th st. N.E. A sketch showing
boring locations is attached. Surface elevations at the bore
holes were referenced to the intersection of the centerlines of
1st Ave. N.W. and 14th st. N.E. We have assumed an elevation
for this bench mark equal to 100.0 feet.

lORIIUD'j
