~

.

.

1.

II.

NEW BRIGHTON PARKS, RECREATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION
MINUTES

November 1,2006
(Minutes in their entirety are kept on DVD at City Hall)

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Heinrich.

Roll Call

Present: Barton, Budzynski, Frischman, Greacen, Heinrich, Jaskowiak, Knuth, Toupal, Council
Representative Hoffinan, Staff Representative Breuer, Office Assistant Olson
Absent: Trevorrow

III. Minutes of September 6, 2006
Frischman felt the second paragraph on page 2 seemed out of place. The paragraph read as
follows:

Breuer, said she understands that this Commission has had some long meetings because
of the Strategic Plan. Breuer stated that she and Heinrich have met to see if the meetings
can be kept to 1 hour or hour and a half.

The following two paragraphs replace the above paragraph to help clarity.

Chair Heinrich asked Director, Sandy Breuer, to take the next agenda item; Hansen Park
Shelter RFP's.

Breuer said before she gets into the next agenda item, she wanted to let everyone know
that she and Chair Heinrich have met to see if it is possible to shorten the Commission
meetings to about an hour or hour and a half. She understands that this Commission has
had some long meetings because of the Strategic Plan, but hopefully that will not be
necessary any longer. The next agenda item will be shorter than planned because of
developments that came up after the agenda went out.

The September 6, 2006 minutes stand with the above paragraph changes on page 2.

IV. Correspondence

A.

Council Report - Council Member Hoffman
Council Member Hoffman informed the Commission that Dean Lotter has been
hired as the new City Manager. We are excited about him coming on board. The
Council had a public hearing regarding Timber Crest apartments. Police calls to
this complex have exceeded the level necessary to revoke their license. Timber
Crest can no longer rent until they come forward with a plan to improve the
quality of life in the complex. They may sell and the property be converted to
condos.

A request to subdivide in the Lake Dianne area was tabled. A bog there needs to
be cleaned regularly and access is needed to do so. It will come back in November
or December.
