Consideration of Change order # 1 for demolition contract at 715 and <br />389 Old Highway 8 NW. Report No. 06-259. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Community Development, David Black reported that the <br />demolishing and clean up are nearly completed on both sites. At the Marv's <br />transmission site, a small area of piping and gasoline materials were fmUld under <br />the slab. The total cost for that additional work to remove the material was $2,785. <br />Cormcil Member Doffing questioned the assessments that were completed at the <br />time the City acquired the property. <br />Mr. Black stated that when dealing with demolition; it is not unusual for additional <br />materials to be discovered that we were unaware of at the time of purchase. <br />Cormcil Member Doffmg asked the status of the Office Condominium plan. <br />Mr. Black met with the Developers, and new buyers are being pursued by the <br />Developers. <br />Council Member Doffmg questioned the possibility of passing any future additional <br />costs to the developer. Mr. Black replied that the original term sheet specifies that <br />I the City provide a "clean" site to the developer. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Burg to approve <br />the attached change order #1 covering work on the demolition contract for 715 and 389 <br />Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br />2. Approval of Penrod Lane, LLC (Timber Crest) Multi-Family Provisional <br />License and Mitigation Plan. Report No. 06-260. <br /> <br />Director of Public Safety-Bob Jacobson outlined some key aspects of the ordinance. <br />It was stated that City staff has reviewed the Mitigation Plan submitted by Penrod <br />Lane, LLC and confirmed it met requirements of the ordinance. <br />Council Member Bauman stated she disagreed with the Applicant having a month <br />to month lease. Director Jacobson explained a monthly lease is beneficial in <br />I allowing the Applicant to move undesirable tenants out in a timely manner. <br />Council Member Burg stated her opinion that a 30 day lease provides for a higher <br />standard of rentals. <br /> <br />There was extensive conversation between council members and Hussain Khan, <br /> <br />ublie Hearin ~ <br />one <br /> <br />Guneil Business <br />1.
