LP-76, Miller
November 16, 1978
Page #2

It is important to note also that the drainage in this area
affects and empties into the Rush Lake area. Therefore, the
quantity of run-off is not the only issue, the quality of the
run-off should also be a consideration. Oils and other foreign
elements washing off of the impervious surface could be a major
environmental concern.

TYPE OF OPERATION

The site will be used as a truck terminal for Sawyer Transport.
Inc., presently located at 498 15th Street N.W., New Brighton,
Minnesota.

The site will house the trucks of the company with no unloading
or loading taking place at the site. Possibly up to 10 trucks
and trailers could be parked at the site overnight. It is
estimated that there will be 15 to 20 trucks going in and out
per day. The Company commented that the preferred route of the
truck traffic would be to make use of #96 avoiding traveling
through primarily residential areas of the community. The
Company is aware of the City's concern over truck traffic and
is willing to discuss its routes with the City.

The office building would house not only the 5 to 6 office
employees but also have lounges for the truck drivers. The size
of the structure, in terms of the needs of the Company, is more
than adequate. The Company has no intentions to build or make
use of a warehouse at the site. In addition, the proposed
fencing at the site is desired by the Company to protect their
property.

~
