<br />i-. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />Report #79- 319 <br />February 5, 1979 <br /> <br />ew <br /> <br /> <br />Iri9hton <br /> <br />REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN CONSISTENCY <br />B & Y METAL PAINTING, INC. <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />This report reviews a request for a finding that the <br />construction of an industrial complex is consistent with the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />B & Y Metal Painting Inc. of New Brighton and Chemical <br />Technology Inc. of Osseo are proposing to be housed in a new <br />35,000 sq. ft. building located at 2172 Old Highway #8. The <br />proposed site is currently zoned 1-2, Heavy Industrial, while <br />the proposed Comprehensive Plan designates the parcel as I-l, <br />Light Industrial. <br /> <br />B &Y Metal Painting Inc. is presently located at 50 1st Street <br />SE in a light industrial district. Basically, the company <br />paints components for a variety of clients. The operation <br />includes the storage of paints, metal components and shipping <br />materials. Both the site in New Brighton and Osseo employ <br />approximately 25 employees. The uses at both sites are <br />permissible in the I-l, Light Industrial classification. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the applicant's proposal be found <br />consistent with the proposed Comprehensive Plan.
