<br />EXTRACT FROM MINUTES <br />BOARD OF PIANNING <br />REGUIAR MEETING <br />February 1, 1979 <br /> <br />COMPREHENSIVE PIAN CONSISTENCY: B & Y METAL PAINTING INC. <br /> <br />Irvin Moen, president of B & Y Metal Painting and Ed Sheehy of <br />Ed's Construction Company were present to answer any questions. <br /> <br />Weaver asked the applicant about the fire hazard of storing the <br />paints. Mr. Moen commented that the fire hazard would be greatly <br />reduced with the change over tQ water based paints. The new <br />site will make use of 90% water based paints. <br /> <br />Knuth asked staff if the City has a method of signing buildings <br />in reference to the method that should be used to fight the fire. <br />Maybe this building should be signed to indicate to the fire <br />department the method to be used. Staff will investigate this <br />matter. <br /> <br />Mr. Moen commented that the Fire Marshall makes yearly inspections <br />at the site and the fire department is aware of the chemcia1s <br />involved. However, he felt the question about signing was a good <br />one and should be looked into. <br /> <br />Motion by Brown, seconded by Schmidt to find the construction of <br />the industrial complex consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />7 Ayes - 0 Nayes - Motion carried. <br />
