~~..~:~

Report #79- 377
April 19, 1979

APPLICATION FOR BUILDING PERMIT
LP-83, CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY

PU.RPOSE

.

To examine a request for a building permit for Chemical
Technology, Inc.

BACKGROUND

As a supplement to the report written ,for the Planning Commission
there are three areas concerning this application which need
additional clarification or comment.

First, the PlanningCommisssion recommended to the applicant
that the landscape plan be-amended to provide for more mature
plantings that would require less maintenance. The applicant
is proposing to plant Weeping Willows which requir~ a great
deal 'of maintenance and Russian Olive trees which are short
lived species. In response to this concern the applicant has
indiacted that there is a possibility of replanting evergreens
existing on the site in front of the proposed building. This
landscaping amendment was acceptable to the Planning Commission.
,

.

Another method could be to negotiate with Mounds Vie~ to have
the platted street (see attachment) in Mounds View im~roved
and extend said street into New Brighton. This method then
could make use of the existing 30 foot easement on Chemical
