<br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 22, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Les Proper, City Engineer, explained that the plans and <br />specifications for the Sunnyside Area Street Reconstruction Project <br />will be completed this summer and construction would begin in 1991. <br />The project entails a very large area with a project cost in excess <br />of $1.3 million. Two informational public meetings have been held <br />and very favorable comments have been received from area residents. <br /> <br />Motion by Brandt Rebelein, seconded by Larson to, WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FEASIBILITY STUDY AND CALLING <br />FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 90-4, <br />SUNNYSIDE AREA STREET RECONSTRUCTION, ON JUNE II, 1990, AT 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Kelley explained that Mr. and Mrs. Yik Chi Lo have bought the <br />property at 2350 Palmer Drive (Robert Lee Restaurant) and will lease <br />it to H.K.D. Lo, Inc. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />H.K.D. Lo Inc. is applying for an on-sale medium restaurant liquor <br />license. The police department has conducted a background <br />investigation and has found no reason to deny the license. <br /> <br />The owners explained that the menu will vary slightly from the <br />former Robert Lees Restaurant and will include many Szechuan dishes. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to ISSUE A MEDIUM RESTAURANT <br />ON-SALE/SUNDAY SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE TO H.K.D. La, INC., DBA SOUTH CHINA ISLAND INN III. China Island Inn #3 <br />Report 90-113B <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council welcomed the South China Island Inn owners to the New <br />Brighton business community and thanked Robert Lee for his many <br />years of successful restaurant operations. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director, presented a site plan <br />for the property southwest of the County Road E and Old Highway 8 <br />intersection.
