<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 14, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />The League of Minnesota Cities will hold its Legislative Policy <br />Adoption meeting on November 16th. <br /> <br />Bob Thomas, Video/Cable Technician, will be leaving and Council <br />thanked him for his many years of service. <br /> <br />Applications are being accepted for vacancies on several boards and <br />commissions. <br /> <br />The Community Center Task Force will meet on November 16th at 7:30 <br />p.m. to review proposed programs. <br /> <br />Moti on by Benke, seconded by Brandt, to AUTHORIZE THE FINANCIAL <br />POLICY ADVISORY BOARD TO ASSIST STAFF AND TASK FORCE IN THE <br />FINANCIAL ASPECTS OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Staff and School District #621 officials have met to discuss the <br />possibility of joint facility uses in the community center. <br /> <br />The North Suburban Cable Commission will meet on November 15th to <br />discuss the transition changes for the potential transfer of public <br />access responsibility to the Commission and the establishment of a <br />separate non-profit organization to operate the public access. <br /> <br />The Youth Service Bureau will hold its awards banquet at the Lido <br />Cafe on November 16th. <br /> <br />The Environmental Quality Commission voted to recommend approval of <br />the Organized Solid Waste Collection Plan. The plan entails the use <br />of multiple haulers which are assigned to districts. The City would <br />handle fee collections on water bills. The featured speaker will be George Latimer. <br /> <br />Benke noted that St. Anthony Mayor Robert Sundland and his wife both St. Anthony Mayor <br />have been hospitalized with serious illnesses. <br />
