Wi 11 i ams congratul ated Mattil a for <br />his outstanding presentation and feels this is an effective way to <br />illustrate the City.s recent development projects. Williams <br />suggested that the slide show be presented to Council each year, <br />and also be presented at the Town Hall Meeting, Chamber and Rotary <br />1 uncheo.ns. <br /> <br />Benke feels the slide show is an excellent way for the City to recap <br />past, present, and future development projects. <br /> <br />Gunderman suggested cablecasting the slides and including the <br />project photos in the City Newsletter. Childs noted the Winter City <br />Newsletter will include photographs from three development projects. <br /> <br />Brandt feels Mattila has created an outstanding presentation, and <br />suggested the inclusion of projects constructed in 1986 and 1987. <br /> <br />Larson congratulated Mattila for his excellent presentation. <br /> <br />Samantha Orduno, Ass i stant to the Ci ty Manager, presented for <br />consideration a request to adopt an ordinance to amend the City Code <br />relating to the sale of cigarettes. <br /> <br />At the October 26th Counci 1 Meeti ng, Council requested staff to <br />explore an ordinance which would regulate cigarette sales in vending <br />machines located in the city. <br /> <br />The drafted ordi nance is model ed after the Shorevi ew ordi nance <br />because it restricts access to cigarette vending machines. <br /> <br />Under the proposed New Brighton ordinance, any business which has <br />a cigarette vending machine will be required to locate the machine <br />in an area where its use will be visible and controlled by business <br />personnel. <br /> <br />New licenses or renewal application forms will require businesses <br />to state whether cigarette sales are by vending machine, over the <br />counter or both.
