<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 12, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Brandt, to AWARD THE BID FOR THE <br />COUNTY ROAD E SIDEWALK PROJECT 88-32 TO HALVORSON CONCRETE, INC.; <br />AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDER Itl TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR PROJECT 88-32 <br />POSTPONING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SIDEWALK IN THE FILL AREAS UNTIL <br />SPRING OF 1990 AND PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF CITY AND COUNTY STREET <br />SWEEPINGS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Benke acknowledged that he has not had the opportunity to review the <br />updated Comprehensive Plan and recommends that Council receive the <br />report and request staff to prepare a summary of the proposed <br />changes and present this at a future Council meeting. <br /> <br />Benke commended staff and the Planning Commission for their <br />diligence and patience in reviewing the many documents in order to <br />prepare the plan. <br /> <br />Mot i on by Benke, seconded by Wi 11 i ams, to RECEIVE THE UPDATED <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND TABLE FOR CONSIDERATION AT A FUTURE COUNCIL <br />MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director, presented for review <br />the outline for the Highway 8 Corridor Implementation Plan. <br /> <br />In 1987, Council adopted the Highway 8 Corridor Plan as a land use <br />guide for the Highway 8 Corridor. The plan identifies 14 sites for <br />redevelopment wi thi n the Corri dor and provi des an overall <br />redevelopment concept and land use plan. The plan also provides a <br />great deal of basic information about the 14 sites and ideas for how <br />they could be redeveloped. <br /> <br />The Implementation Plan will include redevelopment cost estimates, <br />target property values for new development, and a list of action <br />steps for each of the 14 sites.
