Brandt agreed that Long Lake Road is an important <br />fire and police access artery that serves many residents and should <br />be kept open and in good driving condition. <br /> <br />Mr. Weltzin said the proposed Silver Lake Road project will include <br />a center 1 eft turn 1 ane runni ng from Sil ver Lane to I -694 and a <br />pedestrian/bike path. A public hearing for the project will be held <br />sometime in September or October and constructi on wi 11 begi n in <br />1992. <br /> <br />Williams feels the addition of landscape would help soften Silver <br />Lake Road especially along the residential areas. <br /> <br />Benke questioned the Long Lake Road 20 year traffic projections, and <br />feels the Silver Lake Road projections should be further analyzed. <br />Mr. Weltzin will convey these concerns and suggestions to his staff. <br /> <br />Mr. Weltzin said County Road E is scheduled to be overlaid in 1992 <br />and will be reconstructed several years later. <br /> <br />Brandt noted the portion west of County Road E from Silver Lake Road <br />to Stinson Boulevard is badly in need of repair. <br /> <br />Gunderman suggested the use of landscaping along Silver Lake Road <br />for a welcoming effect into the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Salverda invited the Council to the United Way Campaign Kick- <br />off on September 10th at Minnehaha Park. <br /> <br />Council thanked the four gentl emen for thei r i nformati ve <br />presentations. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Gunderman, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Spec; a 1 Order of <br />Business <br /> <br />Presentation by Ramsey <br />County Representatives <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: 95379-95380, 95383-95410, 95413-95613, Vouchers <br />95616-95651 FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $896,977.66. <br />
