4.) The landscape plan as shown to us presents another shading problem on the north
side of the proposed building and the tress on the west side will block our signag-t.
The sight line of any trees on the North and South side, especially an evergreen tree
with its mature shape will block the sight of our customers entrance-exit onto Highway 8.
This surely would be an acident waiting to happen.
5.) Making sure no more drainage water drowns out our greenhouses which has been
ongoing for the past two years, causing damage to our fence, concrete walks, blacktop,
and greenhouse foundations erosion.
6.) An assurance that any and all past and future damage to our home, greenhouse and
any other existing structures, such has already happened, including walls and tile floors
cracking, windows broken, poly greenhouse roofs damaged from flying rocks and ground
vibrations and any other means as a result of construction or operation of the proposed
office/warehouse, will be repaired, replaced or otherwise justly compensated-
I have repeatedly stated our concerns to your office and to the office of City Manager over
the last 5 years, through meetings and many phone conversations, yet not one item was
taken into account in the staff recommendation report. Perhaps there wasn't enough space
in the report, considering the one and 1/2 page recommendation from the Crime
Prevention Specialst. Although we sure will be comforted to know someone went to great
lengths and expense to diminish graffiti on Mr. John Allen`s buildings. We have tried for
five years to work out solutions, and no one has taken us seriously. We said from the
beginning that we should be moved, that our type of business will never work with this
type of project surrounding us on three sides, but we were always assured that "we don't
want you to move, well work it out" Well, now is your chance to "Work It Out", because
as proposed, you will surely put us out of business as soon as that 30' building goes up. If
concern #I above is not resolved, concerns 2- 6, are mute points.
We realize the necessity of the Lakeview Business Center to the City of New Brighton,
and as a resident we are all for it and are proud of what the city has accomplished in a
relatively short period of time with this project and all the other projects in the city. We
commend you, your staff, and everyone with a vision, but please, don't put the blinders on
now.
r
Sincerely,
Joseph and Vickie Chenoweth
cc: Mayor Benke & Members of City Council
John Bannigan, Bannigan, Kelly, Attorney, and Robert Kalenda, Attorney
Mark Zeissman, Lurie, Besikof, Lapidus & Co_, LLP
