KENNEDY, 319--1ST AVENUE SE, REIMBURSEMENT FOR A $240.00 <br />SERVICE CHARGE FOR THAWING WATER SERVICE. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Gunderman suggested moving Item #2 of Council Business to later in <br />the agenda. <br /> <br />Ken Johnson, Co-Chair, of the Community Center Task Force presented <br />for approval the appointment of Resolution, Inc. as the community <br />center consultant. <br /> <br />The task force met on Wednesday, March 22, 1989 to revi ew the <br />proposals of two professional planning consultants. Both <br />consultants were asked to submit proposals detailing the assistance <br />they wou'ld provide for a needs assessment, site selection and <br />funding alternatives for the proposed project. <br /> <br />The two consultants were: Don Wiski, Resolution Inc.; and Barbara <br />Lukerman, Moe Morton and Mary Poquette, pri vate p 1 anni ng <br />consultants. <br /> <br />The task force voted unanimously to recommend that Council appoint <br />Don Wiski as the consultant. Mr. Wiski's role will be to work with <br />the task force in areas of research, data collection and analysis, <br />organizational time lines, project coordination, and preparation of <br />final report/recommendation to Council. <br /> <br />The estimated cost of Wiski 's services for the needs assessment is <br />; n the range of $14,000-16,000. Along with the use of the <br />consultant, other information releases or public relation expenses <br />will be incurred during the assessment. The estimated cost of these <br />expenses is $5,000. The next task force m~eting is scheduled on <br />April 13, 1989. Brandt verifi ed that the proposal i ncl udes two <br />separate budget requests. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Brandt to APPOINT RESOLUTION, INC. <br />AS THE COftlt1UNITY CENTER/ARMORY TASK FORCE CONSULTANT, AUTHORIZE <br />STAFF TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND RESOLUTION, INC. <br />AND WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE RESOLUTION FOR A BUDGET CHANGE <br />TO COVER THE COST OF CONSULTANT SERVICES TO THE TASK FORCE. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Appeal to City Policy <br />of Water Pipe/Kennedy <br />Report 89-85 <br /> <br />Appointment of <br />Resolution Inc. for <br />Community Center Task <br />Force Consultant <br />Report 89-87 <br />Resolution 89-44 <br />
