West on Forestdale. South on <br />Redwood Lane. crossing over 5th Street and down the boulevard to the <br />reservoir site. This is a distance of three-quarters of a mile. <br /> <br />Benke asked if Driftwood has been repaved. Proper said Forestdale <br />has been repaved. but Driftwood and Redwood have not been repaved. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman. seconded by Williams. to APPROVE THE PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PERMANENT G.A.C. WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND <br />TO AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Motion Carried <br /> <br />Williams asked if the designs of this GAC Plant have the potential <br />of receiving the Consulting Engineering award. <br /> <br />Benke added that Barr Engineering and the City received an <br />engineering design award for the design of the GAC Temporary Water <br />Treatment Filters. <br /> <br />Mr. Greg Keil. Barr Engineering. commented that this GAC Plant will <br />be one of the largest GAC plants in the nation. <br /> <br />Benke was invited by Minnesota Public Radio to participate in a <br />program discussion about groundwater/aquifer contamination issues. <br />The program will be broadcast on February 24. 1989. at 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Proper suggested the combining of the Approval of MN/DOT Plans and <br />Specifications for 1-694 Third Lane Addition Project. Trunk Highway <br />#65 to Long Lake Road; and the Approval of the Color Selection for <br />Repainting 1-694 Sound Walls. <br /> <br />The MN/DOT Plans and Specifications for 1-694 Third Lane Addition <br />Project. Trunk Highway #65 to Long Lake Road are consistent with the <br />preliminary plans presented at the March 8. 1988. Council meeting. <br /> <br />John Purune and Jim Rei erson, both from MN/DOT, presented the <br />painting schemes and color samples for the 1-694 sound walls. <br /> <br />Mr. purune said there has been some question concerning the <br />repainting of the back side of the sound walls.
