<br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 24, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />Council Business. continued <br /> <br />Gunderman verified that the feasibility study would involve just the <br />structure not the demographics of utilization or funding. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman. seconded by Larson to AUTHORIZE EXPENDITURES <br />OF UP TO $2,500 FROM THE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT FUND FOR A <br />FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A HOCKEY RINK SHELTER AT HANSEN PARK AND DIRECT <br />STAFF TO WORK IN COOPERATION WITH THE LAKE REGION HOCKEY ASSOCIATION <br />AND STOCKYARD DAYS, INC. ON A FUND RAISING EFFORT TO SECURE FUNDING <br />FOR THIS PROJECT. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Motion Carried <br /> <br />Anderson presented the quotes for the 1989 City newsletter. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department requested quotes <br />from eighteen publishing companies for the typesetting and printing <br />of four City Hall/Recreation Newsletters in 1989. <br /> <br />The quotes are based on a 24-page newsletter. 10.500 copies plus an <br />additional 4 pages when needed. Advanced Printing, who has printed <br />the newsletter for the past four years. returned the lowest bid for <br />a 24-page issue at $3,000 and a 28-page issue at $3.300. <br /> <br />Wi 11 i ams asked if the Parks and Recreation Department have been <br />pleased with the quality of Advance1s work. Anderson said the Parks <br />and Recreation Department have been satisfied. Even though the <br />requirements have been upgraded. Advance1s bid is at the same rate <br />as it was last year. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked if the contract would cause any restrictions if the <br />format is modified in any way. Anderson said the contract would not <br />restrict any modifications of the format. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />One option which was requested, but not included. in this report <br />were quotes to prepare a second newsletter. This newsletter would <br />be strictly a City Hall addition. The low bid for this second <br />newsletter was returned by Advanced Printing. It has not been <br />decided whether this smaller version will be printed. but additional <br />funding would have to be sought for this project. Before the <br />smaller newsletter is formatted. Judy Goepel.
