I would also thank the people who on occasion have disagreed with us. We need healthy debate on issues and priorities to avoid complacency. That invitation may not make political sense when I seek reelection next fall. But it is true. We must explore alternatives and share differing perspectives to fully understand our decisions if we hope to achi eve an even greater success for New Brighton. In closing. I would thank my Council colleagues for their support and encouragement throughout thi s past year. We I ve come along way together and I I ve enjoyed your enthusiasm. your company and your occasional nudge. 1 remain convinced that our Council is second to none. 11m proud of all of you and our City. Benke inserted an additional Special Order of Business item. titled IIA Resolution of Commendation for Hank Sinda for his Five Years of Service as New Brighton City Manager.1I Benke read the resolution to the Council audience. Motion by Benke. seconded by Brandt. to ADOPT THE RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION FOR HANK SINOA FOR HIS FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE AS NEW BRIGHTON CITY MANAGER. 2 Ayes - 3 Nayes. Motion denied The Council acknowledged that the IInoll votes were in jest and. upon reconsi derati on. adopted THE RESOLUTION OF COfttt'lENOATION FOR HANK SINDA FOR HIS FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE AS NEW BRIGHTON CITY MANAGER. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Motion carried Benke on behalf of the Council thanked Sinda for his five years of service and wished Sinda and his family good luck in Sioux City.
