<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />council Meet n9 Minutes <br />December 27, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Council Busi ess continued <br /> <br />Benke mentioned that pay scales has been a continuing frustration <br />for managers and feels Williams should follow-up on his concerns and <br />is intereste in any ideas he would contribute. <br /> <br />Announcements and U dates <br /> <br />Williams has been officially appointed Vice President of the Ramsey <br />County League of Local Governments. <br /> <br />The Ramsey ounty Charter Commission is on hiatus until after the <br />holidays. <br /> <br />On January 4 and 15, 1989. the Council and Staff will participate <br />in a team b ilding session. <br /> <br />Benke sugges ed to staff to include a list of the new or reappointed <br />Commission ember applications be included in the Council packet <br />distributed Friday. December 30. <br /> <br />Since Benke ill be absent at the January 24, 1989, Council meeting; <br />he would pr fer that commission appointments be included on the <br />January 10. 1989 Council agenda. <br /> <br />Benke asked the Bulletin and the Focus Newspaper for their help in <br />publishing he commission openings. <br /> <br />On January 11. 1989. a farewell dinner and roast will be held at the <br />Hilton Inn in honor of Hank Sinda. <br /> <br />On January 7, 1989. a community recognition dinner will be held in <br />honor of Ha k Sinda at the Tri-City American Legion. <br /> <br />Larson aske Orduno if there was a good turnout for the Marti n <br />Luther King Essay Contest. <br /> <br />Orduno said the Human Rights Commission had sponsored an essay <br />contest for all elementary students on the meaning of Martin Luther <br />King Day. She said they had rece i ved essays from a 11 but one <br />school; and the only grades which entered more than one essay was <br />the second nd fourth grades. <br /> <br />The essay winners will be announced at the January 10, 1989.
