URIVIRSK Sfl[(Sl inc.
{
-Phone 781-4108 3647 McKinley Street N. E.
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55418
March 21, 1972
t
°. Quentin Wood, City Engineer
New Brighton, . Minnesota
Dear Mr. Wood:
' Re: Development plans for site west of Silver Lake Road know as
Billman sand pit.
}z In accordance with our discussion on Friday, March 17, 1972, we submit
the following as a resume of our thinking and planning for the site to date
(1) Final plans as to what will be proposed are probably two to three years
in the future, but for sure, the final proposal will develop around the formula
of best land use for the site in question. To us, some form of planned residential
development coupled with some yet to be determined usage along Silver Lake Road
(to act as a buffer) appears to be a reasonable approach. We would like to work
with--you and your planner, Mr. Charles McGuire, who accompanied you at our
last meeting, on this buffer planning along Silver Lake Road. Possibly a
nursing home -? home for the aged, or a church would be acceptable. We are
y open to any suggestion other then fencing it.
xt' (2) The grading plan submitted in August, 1971 seems to be flexible
enough to allow for the above type of planning. Basicly, what was proposed is
' a gradual slope from the high elevation on the west side of the site down to
Silver Lake Road. Religious adherance to the origanal grading plan will not
necessarily be required nor will it necessarily be desirable as overall planning
develops. The intent of the plan was to make sure that any borrow pit operation
taking place on the site would not foreclose the site to the various options at the
time of final planning.
(3) We understand that a commitment is desired as to our intent at the pond
?n on our north boundary. For the time being, we will hold in abeyance any final
plan for this area, and will agree that no further filling will take place until the
final planning is developed. If a P. R. D. is approved, and the density is worked
r
