i
March..23, 1972
Thomas Lewcock
Page Two
In.'the areas of excavation no points were found which were below,
the approved grades. To a person walking the site, it appears
that there has been a deep hole dug in the center of the property.
The elevation of the bottom of this hole is controlled by the
permittee and is slightly above the elevation proposed on the
plan. Working as they are, most of the actual excavation work is
.shieldedfrom view of the public
There is one area on the.grading plan which shows a proposed
fill. This is the low area west of the pond in the northeast
corner of the property (south of Salem Covenant Church).
Permission was denied to fill the pond itself. This pond has
an. overflow into the Spillage storm sewer-system. It's hydraulic
importance as .a ponding area is significant and should be
considered in detail when development plans of its contributing
area are brought forward:
In the area where filling has taken place at the west end of
the lake, some Hof the fill material at this time exceeds that
agreed upon by plan. This-has been brought to the attention of
the permittee and corrections will be made.
Contact has been made with the Village's consulting engineer
who designed the sewer which will serve this area; he has answered
us that the sewer is adequate-
dentin K.
