CONS IDE ATION OF CANCELLATION OF OUTSTANDING CITY ISSUED CHECKS <br />NUMBERE - 82846, 83149, 83649, 83794, 84608, 85622, 86001. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 N yes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Busi ess <br /> <br />Allen Bauer, New Brighton Fire Chief, presented the bids for the <br />replacement f the 1972 rescue truck. Mr. Bauer explained due to <br />the increase cost of aluminum and the additional hours required for <br />construction Luverne Fire Apparatus submitted an alternative <br />proposa 1 to construct the truck body from sta i nl ess steel at no <br />added cost. Mr. Bauer explained that this bid is $20,000 more than <br />the original y anticipated cost in the 1989 budget. <br /> <br />Williams ask d Mr. Bauer if the Fire Department has had any previous <br />experience ith Luverne Fire Apparatus Company. Mr. Bauer <br />explained, Luverne Fire Apparatus had previously built the Fire <br />Department's waterpump and they were very satisfied. <br /> <br />Motion by Gu derman, seconded by Larson to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RE OLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRUCK BODY <br />FROM STAINL SS STEEL AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE LOW BID OF <br />$142,366.00 ROM LUVERNE FIRE APPARATUS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 N yes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Brandt aske if the unanticipated $20,000 in the cost of this <br />vehi cl e wou d requi re the 1989 Budget to be amended.
