SINDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Counc il Bus; ness <br /> <br />Appointment to Ramsey <br />County Light Rail <br />Transit Authority <br />Report 88-312 <br /> <br />Brandt was contacted bya resident who is frequently awaken at his Unsolicited Junk Mail <br />home by un so icited depositing of junk mail. The resident did <br />contact the dvertising group involved in the distribution of this <br />material that he is not interested in receiving their materials, but <br />this problem still does continue. He was also concerned with the <br />mail piling p when he is out-of-town. <br /> <br /> <br />The resident would like to know if the Council would be able to <br />assist him i this problem. <br /> <br />Brandt sugge ted the placement of a sticker designating that this <br />residence pr fers not to receive unsolicited contact. <br /> <br />Charles LeFe ere, City Attorney, said the City could make this <br />service available, but would not recommend including this item in <br />the City Cod . <br /> <br />Larson menti ned he has found many residences in the area that do <br />currently ha e "No Solicitation" signs in their front windows. <br />Brandt comme ted that even with these signs this does not deter the <br />solicitors f om leaving literature. <br /> <br />Benke sugges ed contacting the Citizen Study Committee to consider <br />the issues a d suggestions discussed at this Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Br ndt, seconded by Larson to REFER THE DISCUSSION ON THE <br />DISPOSITION F UNSOLICITED JUNK MAIL TO THE CITIZEN STUDY COMMITTEE. <br /> <br /> <br />Benke acknowledged Gary and Brian Elford, Boy Scouts from Troop #93, Boy Scouts <br />who were atte ding the Council meeting to obtain their "Citizenship" <br />badges. <br />
