<br />COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />Atonement Lutheran Church <br />REQUEST: Council authorization of building permit for addition to <br />Atonement Lutheran Church <br />]LOCATION: Silver Lake Road and Rice Creek Road (S.W. corner) <br />ZONING: R-1 <br />EST. VALUATION: $92,826 <br />SIZE OF BUILDING: 32' x 95' - 4" <br />EXT. TREATMENT: Brick, stone and stucco <br />SETBACKS: Requirements are met <br />PLANNER'S COMMENTS: <br />The property under consideration is the present site of the Atonement <br />Lutheran Church. The property is bounded on the north by Rice Creek <br />Road, on the east by Silver Lake Road, Property to the south is undeveloped <br />at present. The Silver Oaks Court Apartment complex occupies the property <br />to the west. <br />It is the petitioners intent to build a new classroom building addition <br />to the church facility. The classroom building is to be used for <br />religious instruction and nursery school. <br />No landscaping changes or additions are planned at present. However, to <br />meet the ordinance requirements indication of areas to be seeded, sodded <br />or left in the natural state should be made on the drawing. <br />The Village Engineer has expressed concern about the parking lot entrance/ <br />exit on Silver Lake Road. Additional concern was expressed regarding the <br />lack of utility connections indicated on the drawing. <br />The petitioners have been contacted with regard to the deficiencies in the <br />plan and have agreed to correct same prior to the Planning Commission <br />meeting. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION CONSIDERATION: <br />Mr. Mohnkern stated that no additional landscaping is planned at the <br />present time, though some juniper might be added near the entrances to <br />the addition at some future date.
