Yet, licensed facilities, either day-care <br />centers or family homes, the majority of which <br />are merely custodial and inadequate, can <br />accommodate only 642, 000 of these millions. <br />The Answer: Professional care for our youth's <br />g most crucial first years. .now. It is our <br />belief that money spent on early childhood <br />development is the best investment this nation <br />can make toward its future. The Program and <br />staff of the Day Care Centers are dedicated to <br />making every dollar of that investment pay off <br />in happy future lives and a better world <br />tomprrow. <br />The basic goal of the day care center is to <br />provide exceptional day care in an environment <br />in which social, physical, intellectual and <br />emotional growth is encouraged by a profes- <br />sional staff, outstanding curriculum, carefully <br />designed facilities, and a strong emphasis on <br />parent, child, teacher relationships. <br /> <br />
