<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meetin Minutes <br />October 11, 19 8 <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner, presented the Publ ic Hearing for the <br />Fi rst Readi ng of an Ordi nance to Amend the City Code to Cover <br />Parking Standa ds. <br /> <br />On August 9, 988, the City Council reviewed the proposed parking <br />standards and ontinued the first reading of the proposed ordinance <br />pending further study and input. <br /> <br />The Ci ty Staf <br />concerned tha <br />meeting. <br /> <br />has done additional research into three areas of <br />were addressed by the Council at the previous <br /> <br />The following items were researched: <br /> <br />1. The parking and storage of trucks, buses, and <br />recreational vehicles. <br /> <br />2. Visitor parking at townhomes. <br /> <br />3. Ride Sharing and Car Pooling. <br /> <br />The Staff has poke to several RV dealers in the area, and has found <br />the regulation of 4.5 tons (9,000 lbs.) and a length no greater than <br />30 feet, woul be suitable. The staff feels these limitations in <br />residential districts would be adequate. <br /> <br />After review ng similar ordinances for townhomes in other <br />communities and looking at past development proposals; Staff feels <br />providing one isitor parking space for each unit up to 10 units and <br />1/2 visitor p rking space for each unit over 10 units is adequate. <br /> <br />Under Special Circumstances, the staff has added a Ridesharing and <br />Car Pooling Se tion.
