<br />SP-57 <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br />November 12, 1974 <br /> <br />limit of interference would be .3 mile and that they could <br />provide filters for people within that area who are having <br />problems. <br /> <br />One of the representatives also stated that when a tower <br />falls it does not fall outward in one piece, that it breaks into <br />at least two pieces and falls around the base. <br /> <br />Mr. Nyborg pointed out that the area in question was a <br />dump and probably looked worse in the past. He state that the <br />property would be developed and maintained so that there would <br />be an improvement. <br /> <br />Planninq Commission Recommendation (10-15-74): <br /> <br />Motion by Parham, seconded by Daniels, to recommend <br />dneial of SP-57 because the height of the towers is out of scale <br />with the rest of the area and putting those towers in that <br />location at this time would be detrimental to efforts to upgrade <br />the downtown. <br /> <br />Motion carried, 4-0 <br /> <br />Daniels suggested that it be added that if after study of <br />the downtown area, it is found that the concern about the impact <br />of the tower is not well founded, the application be reconsidered. <br /> <br />Motion by Parham, seconded by Harty, to recommend that <br />the Housing and Redevelopment Authority include the area on both <br />sides of Old Highway 8 at least to 14th Street NW in its study <br />area and to consider the recommendation of the Citizen's Study <br />Committee that the study area be extended as far as Hwy. 96. <br /> <br />Motion carried, 4-0 <br />
