<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 9, 1988 <br /> <br />Mr. Locke and Mr. Mattila will meet with Mr. Meade, of the <br />Bulletin, to go over the issues involved. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Benke, <br />DISCUSSION THE ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE REGARDING PARKING STANDARDS. <br /> <br />to CONTINUE FOR FURTHER <br />THE NEW BRIGHTON ZONING <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Sinda, City Manager, presented the City of New Brighton's <br />Sexual Harassment Policy. The policy has been drafted by our <br />legal counsel and approved by the Human Rights Commission. There <br />was some discussion on the wording for IlCity Officials" in the <br />policy, but legal counsel felt is was appropriately worded. <br /> <br />Sinda commented that department heads and supervisors have been <br />orientated on this policy and employee orientation will begin in a <br />month. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Brandt, to APPROVE THE ADOPTION <br />OF THE SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Brandt asked if Ramsey County has been notified about the hilly <br />ground near the Pedestrian Crosswalk at Windsor Green on Silver <br />Lake Road. Les Proper, City Engineer will further investigate <br />this and let Council know of the outcome. <br /> <br />The Council will attend the Northern Mayor's Planning Session on <br />Wednesday, August 24. <br /> <br />Page 6 <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Proposed Parking <br />Ordinance <br />Report 88-234 <br /> <br />Sexual Harassment <br />Po 1 icy <br />Report 88-235 <br /> <br />Announcement & <br />Updates <br /> <br />Silver Lake Road <br />Repair <br /> <br />Northern Mayor's <br />Meeting <br /> <br />The Budget Meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 25, Budget Meeting <br />4:30 p.m., North Conference Room. <br /> <br />The September 13th <br />Tuesday, September <br />election. <br /> <br />City Council Meeting has been <br />6, because of conflict with <br /> <br />changed to <br />the primary <br /> <br />City Council Meeting <br /> <br />The Minnesota League of Cities Regional Meeting, hosted by New LMC Regional Meeting <br />Brighton, will be held on Monday, September 12, at Robert Lee's <br />Restaurant. <br /> <br />Mayor Patricia Hawkes and Mayor's Secretary, John Piper, Brighton, Antique Car Run <br />England, will attend the Second Annual New Brighton to New London <br />Antique Run on August 28. <br /> <br />The Association of Metropolitan Municipalities has a vacancy on AMM Vacancies <br />their Board and Policy Committee. <br /> <br />Brandt mentioned Steve Schmidt has been appointed the alternative Cable Commission <br />delegate on the Negotiation Committee for the Cable Commission. <br />The committee is involved with the potential purchase or transfer <br />of the public access responsibilities and franchise agreement. <br />
