Mr. King said the resi-
dents have been concerned about the safety of ducks crossing
Silver Lake Road. The residents suggested one way to help
eliminate this problem, is to install duck crossing signs to make
citizens more aware of the ducks and also may help with the speed
levels. Mr. King suggested the location of the two signs to be
along Silver Lake Road and County Road E. Councilmember Williams
supported this idea and mentioned there is other wildlife in this
area and felt this would have a positive affect on speed levels in
this area.

Councilmember Larson and Mayor Benke both felt there should be
some restrictions on how the Council approves these signs in the
future. Mr. Kelley said the County will install the signs but the
City will purchase the signs. Mayor Benke proposed to consider
these signs on a trial basis and involve the Windsor Green Resi-
dents to monitor the value of these signs. Larson felt Mr. King
should be involved in the placement of these signs.

Motion by Williams, seconded by Benke, to APPROVE THE REQUEST FOR
THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) DUCK CROSSING SIGNS TO BE INSTALLED BY
RAMSEY COUNTY ON TRIAL BASIS BETWEEN SILVER LAKE ROAD AND COUNTY
ROAD E.

3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Mayor Benke introduced Richard Wriskey, City Forester, to present
the proposal for Boulevard Tree Planning in the Downtown area.

Boulevard Tree
Plant i ngs
