He noted plans had been changed
to show concrete curbs along the landscaping area on
Old Highway 8, that additional plantings along that
landscaping area were shown and that replacement of dead
plantings on 1-35W'and 1-694 was also shown.

SP-71, VN-l.5a
8:45 to
10:15

Acting Mayor 'Fisher stated ,he believed a detailed parking
plan might be necessary to assure orderly parking on the site.
Dahlke stated that h~'intendedto park trailers along the
landscaped area on Old Highway 8 and the sideyard on. 1-694
and1-35W. He also stated that plantings on the landscaped
area along Old Highway 8 were of the evergreen variety and would
eventually be a 4 or is foot hedge.

Councilman Hardt asked whether trailers '\I'lOuldbe parked in the
central area of the site.
Dahlke responded that that might occur, but infrequently.

Acting Mayor Fisher reiterated that parking area should
be delineated, that all curbs should be done in concrete,
and that a time limit should be attached to the variance.

Councilman Werdouscheggcommented that customer
and visitor parking areas were not shown on the plan and that
they should be shown.

Councilman Senden asked whether the site had the potential
for more intensive use in the future.
Hr. Shank, real estate'broker for the property, stated that
they had widely advertised the property and that though he
felt that a more intensive use might be possible it probably
was a long time off. He stated he believed the proposed:
property use was a good interim use.

Councilman Hardt asked where a second row of trailers
along 1-35W and 1-694 would be placed.

Dahlke stated that they would be placed parallel to the
first row and that he did not believe more than 20 parking
stalls ~uuld be necessary~

Motion by Hardt, seconded by Fisher to continue hear~ng
to the first meeting in September at 8:25
laye,- 3nayes (Hardt, Senden,werdouschegg) failed
Motion by.Hardt, seconded byWerdouschegg to close hearing
,4, ayes - 0:, ,nayes- carried .

Close
Heuring
