<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 1988 <br /> <br />tials in not only testing air quality but also designing odor con- <br />trol facilities specifically for rendering plants; he has worked <br />for industry and on the regulatory side; formerly with the MPCA; <br />has familiarity with the three plants; he has a practical approach <br />and able to put things in lay terms; will be an expert witness, if <br />needed, and can help the city map out a strategy for working with <br />the PCA and for undertaking enforcement action. McKinley's agree- <br />ment terms, not to exceed $700.00, is within the City Manager1s <br />authority to order the services, but LeFevere wanted to update <br />council on the search. <br /> <br />LeFevere has talked with Arden Hill's city attorney who will be <br />bringing it to their council next week; we hope they would join us <br />in the effort and agree to equally share the expenses for <br />McKinley. <br /> <br />Benke stated, for council's information, there has been difficulty <br />finding someone with these credentials (the more we learn about <br />the odor problem, the more we realize how much we don't know); and <br />added there are not very many people in the country in this field. <br /> <br />Administrative Secretary announced November 8, 1988, is Election <br />Day as well as the date for the city council meeting; council will <br />determine alternate date/time at a later date. <br /> <br />Gunderman announced that May 20, 1988, is IIJulie Beisswenger" day <br />at Pike Lake Elementary School; Benke indicated he would be pre- <br />sent to represent the City; and other councilmembers are encour- <br />aged to also attend. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Brandt, to ADJOURN THE MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Robert J.
