<br />EXTRACT FROM MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 17, 1984 <br /> <br />RICE CREEK SHOPPING CENTER, SP-78 7:40 <br />Mr. Barbush, owner of Rice Creek Shopping Center, stated that 7:47 P.M. <br />he felt the staff report was complete and that the center badly <br />needed the sign to clearly identify all the occupants of the center. <br /> <br />Chairman Williams asked if the type face would all be the same on <br />the proposed ground sign. <br /> <br />Mr. Barbush stated the type identifying the occupants would be <br />identical for each and that this would be included in the lease <br />agreement of each occupant. <br /> <br />Jeff Benson, an occupant of Rice Creek Shopping Center, stated he <br />had been a tenant at the Center for 5 years and that there had <br />been problems with signing from day one, especially for small <br />businesses such as his that had no frontage on the Silver Lake Road <br />side. He stated additional signing was needed and he was in favor <br />of the proposed sign. <br /> <br />Dave Ulrick, occupant of Rice Creek Shopping Center, stated he had <br />been a tenant since the center opened in 1976 and he concured with <br />Jeff Benson's statements. He stated that the layout of the Center <br />makes signing difficult and that more visability is needed. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Baker, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Sande, seconded by Baker, to waive the reading and adopt <br />the attached RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING <br />APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO SPECIAL USE PERMIT, SP-78. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />
