~

.

RESOLUTION NO. 78-13

NEW BRIGHTON PLANNING COMMISSION
BOARD OF REVIEW

RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF
SPECIAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION, SP-79

WHEREAS an application for a special use permit SP-79 has
been made by Keith Harstad for signing at 2191-2199 Silver Lake
Road, and

WHEREAS the procedural history of the application is as follows:

1. That an application for a special use permit SP-79 was filed
with the City on April 13, 1978:

2. That the Board of Review heard and reviewed the application
at its meeting of April 18, 1978:

3. The written comments and analysis of the City Planner and
all persons statements made at the Board of Review meeting
were considered.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF REVIEW, That the
following findings of fact are made in respect to SP-79:

1. The general purpose of the sign ordinance is to promote
sound identification, reduction of clutter and aesthetic
enhancement:

2. That the building design and location create a situation
where signing must be handled sensitively:

3. That wall and window signs would not be consistent with the
general purposes of the sign ordinance:

4. That a single ground sign as proposed would provide sound
identification and would be compatible with the general area.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application for SP-79 is hereby
recommended for approval subject to the following:

1. That no more than one (1) ground sign shall be permitted on
the property:

2. That the ground sign contain tenant names only:
