Information to be given on the sign would;according to their letter, be informational only. On the applicants front wall or north side of the building the applicants are also proposing the same type of' signing arrangement as shown on the freeway or east side of the building. The applic'ants have alsol1owever indicated that as an option to the arrangement as will be used on the freeway side of- the building they would like to have signing on the north side of the building in a directory position, adding the address of the building. The applicants have indicated they ~o not desire a ground sign for the property and instead are requesting a slightly larger . signed area on the freeway side. The signing proposed for this building is simple, direct and very compatible ~ith the intent of the sign ordinance. The basic guidelines of having name only or information only on the sign is highly desirable and the basic guideline of signing only on approximately 20 percent of the signable area is also being followed. The plastic lettering type of sign is very appropriate for this type of building. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that SP-84 be approved by waiving the reading and adopting the attached resolution. The Board of Review took action on October 17, 1978, to recommend approval of SP-84 subject to the following conditions:. 1. That the signing for the east side or the freeway side of the structure be as shown on the applicants sketch plan. 2. That the applicants have the option on the north side of the building of either following the sign pattern as on the freeway side of the building or in having signing in a directory position as shown on the applicants alternative sketch, with the building address shown. 3. That there not be a ground sign.
